Our Meet the Team blog series highlights the amazing people behind Moixa. A big thank you to Chiara, our People & Office Manager, who sat down with us to talk about Moixa, her role and her efforts to maintain a great working environment.

Chiara Galli foto e1627383146994 Moixa | Home Energy Storage | Smart Energy ManagementChiara has been working for Moixa for three and a half years as People & Office Manager, always ensuring a slick and efficient running of the office as well as creating a positive and welcoming environment for our team members across two offices in London and Manchester.

Moixa strives to cultivate an energetic, inclusive and diverse working environment, and Chiara plays a key role in helping Moixa achieve this mission.

Before Moixa, Chiara worked in a number of IT startups and had a previous career as a portrait and event photographer.

 


What made you want to join Moixa?

I’ve been lucky to work for companies that wanted to do good for people and the world at large and I wanted to work for a similar company again.

What elements of Moixa and our business are you most passionate about?

We are a great team full of incredibly smart and hard-working people working together to fight global warming.

What happens on a typical workday for you?

It might sound trite but no workday is the same: some days I’ll be focusing on keeping the office running smoothly, while on others I’ll be assisting teams with various tasks or work on ‘people’ projects.

Are you currently working on any particularly interesting projects?

We are overhauling our onboarding system to meet the needs of our new hybrid way of working, with team members working both remotely and in the office.

In March 2020 the world changed almost overnight. Covid-19 completely transformed also the way we think about work: it can now happen everywhere, not only in the office Monday to Friday. At Moixa we have adapted quickly to the new reality: people want and need greater flexibility, whether it comes to the hours they work or the actual location from where they work.

That’s why we have adopted this new hybrid way of working, designed to suit people with different preferences and needs and empower each person to give their best to the company.

What is the most interesting thing you have learnt whilst working at Moixa?

Where the name “Moixa” comes from! 😀

What steps are you individually making towards a cleaner future?

I buy less stuff, I’m leaning toward a more plant-based diet and I’m a recycling ninja.

What defines a successful month for you (and your team) at Moixa?

Receiving great feedback from the teams about our people initiatives and solving (almost) all the day to day hiccups that might happen in an office (even a virtual one).

What are the key skills you need to be successful in your role?

Adaptability, curiosity and can-do attitude.

What is one great piece of career advice you have been given?

It’s more of a life lesson but it’s the motto “Easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life”.
