Moixa GridShare is our value added service that is available to every qualifying Moixa battery customer and any qualifying battery brand customer which we partner with. Moixa GridShare combines power from batteries which are connected to Moixa GridShare to trade power with the National Grid. Our proprietary system generates income for our customers, helps to balance the National Grid’s energy demands, and reduces fossil fuel burn through smart energy management.
Moixa GridShare is a customer membership scheme designed to give customers cash back, in return for Moixa intelligently managing their batteries. Moixa GridShare helps balance the energy demands of the grid, whilst providing the participating households with an extra income. Moixa GridShare uses the “smart brain” built into every Moixa Battery to combine the stored energy (or spare capacity) of each customer in order to push energy to the National Grid on occasions during the year. Think of the way your solar panels work by pushing energy into the National Grid in return for a feed-in tariff. Moixa is paid by the National Grid every year for providing these services and will share this income with participating customers.
If you have any questions please contact us at email@example.com or call us at 0207 734 1511.
GridShare – Commercial
We review our guaranteed fixed income and shared income rates each month. However, once you sign-up to a 3 year guaranteed fixed income membership rate, we will honour that rate for your full 3 year term, even if our rates decrease during that term. When the profit share membership rates change, your profit share membership income will change.
Yes. We will send you your personal Moixa GridShare statement each year which will show you what income your battery has generated.
No, Moixa GridShare has no impact on your Feed-In Tariff payments.
No. Once you buy your battery you can sign-up to Moixa GridShare if you wish and you will receive a fixed income or a profit share each year.
You can use Moixa GridShare for as long as you wish. You can sign-up for a 3 year guaranteed fixed income, and leave this at any time. Alternatively, you can sign-up for a 50% profit share, and leave at any time
We offer Moixa GridShare for 3 year terms and when you sign up to guaranteed fixed income we guarantee your income payments for 3 years. We intend to operate, grow and improve Moixa GridShare continuously so after your initial 3 year term, you should be able to join a new Moixa GridShare membership.
We will email you or send you a letter if your rates change, or you can look at www.moixa.com for the latest rates.
As we roll-out Moixa GridShare to our customers, we want to keep the proposition simple. We have calculated that in time our proprietary Moixa GridShare solution will generate enough income to give you back £50 per year and allows us to invest in the development of the technology. We review our fixed income and shared income rates every month, so the rates may change.
Once we calculate all of the income generated from Moixa GridShare, and have paid all our Moixa GridShare customers, we will keep any income that remains – this means that if we don’t perform we wont make any money ourselves!
We contract the battery systems of customers who sign up for Moixa GridShare into services such as National Grids Fast Frequency Response (FFR) and share any income generated with our Moixa GridShare customers. Any income that Moixa retains will go to pay our costs for maintaining and developing the Moixa GridShare service.
If you are on guaranteed fixed income membership, you will still get paid in full. Otherwise the sum you receive through profit share membership will be reduced (as will Moixa’s share). Moixa use multiple systems and checks to ensure any server downtime will be negligible.
Yes, your system must be connected for the minimum threshold period of 95% to be eligible for GridShare payments – beyond this the money you receive will be proportional to the period of time your system has been connected to Moixa’s GridShare server.
If you are on the guaranteed fixed income membership, you get paid £50 each year. If you are on the profit share membership then you will receive 50% of all the profit generated by your battery. We calculate this by looking at all the profit generated by Moixa GridShare, then dividing that number by the number of batteries using Moixa GridShare, then giving you 50% of that profit.
Simply log in to your Moixa customer account at www.moixa.com.
You will be paid every year, within a month of the date you joined GridShare. We will send you a statement each year to remind you of the income you are making!
Moixa GridShare generates income from trading power with the National Grid. This is a dynamic relationship so we don’t know exactly how much income will be generated each month or year.
In addition to your solar-shift energy saving from your battery, Moixa GridShare will give you an additional £50 back per year if you are on the guaranteed fixed income option. If you are on the profit share option you will get 50% of all the profit your battery helps generate – but we wont know how much this is until the year end.
Yes, you can join Moixa GridShare. You can either choose to receive a share of Moixa GridShare profit or you can choose to receive a guaranteed fixed income each year. In the first few years it is likely that you will get more income if you choose a guaranteed fixed income membership.
GridShare – Technical
If your battery does not work Moixa GridShare will not work therefore it is important that you are able to fix or replace your battery either through Moixa’s warranty, or through your manufacturers warranty. Your payments will resume once your battery is operating again.
If you are on our guaranteed fixed income membership, you will received your income each year as long as we can still communicate with your battery for at least 95% of the year. If you are on a profit share membership and your internet connection is off, Moixa cannot communicate with your battery to trade power with the National Grid and cannot generate income during this down time.
Moixa GridShare requires only a small amount of data to be sent and received by your battery each hour so for most households this will not be a problem. Please contact us if you have a very slow internet connection.
Yes, Moixa GridShare will aggregate the power in your battery with other batteries connected to Moixa GridShare and will trade power with the National Grid. You will receive income depending on which Moixa GridShare membership you are on.
We prepare a list of Meter IDs that National Grid could audit if they wished to. This is so that National Grid can verify how well Moixa is delivering services to the National Grid. All Meter IDs are anonymised so the no external party will know which properties are using Moixa GridShare.
Moixa operate to strict data protection rules which protect your personal/storage/consumption data.
Your battery has internal smart software which listens to your solar panels, your home and talks to Moixa GridShare. Moixa GridShare is designed to trade power autonomously with the National Grid, and is controlled by software from Moixa headquarters.
No, there is no impact to your standard battery operations and maintenance visits.
Moixa GridShare will utilise your battery system a very small proportion of the time, and as such will not have a significant impact on your battery lifespan. Your battery has the same 5 year guarantee if you sign up to GridShare membership or not.
No, Moixa GridShare will primarily operate when your battery charges or discharges normally, and will not impact the performance of the battery.
Your battery will only connect with Moixa GridShare when all of your home power requirements are already being met. This means that your home will always receive enough power from your battery.
No, although we may fit a secondary meter that connects to your battery as part of the installation.
